About Shirley

I am Shirley Muir.   I am a PTUK trained, Certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist. I am also registered member of BACP 

 I also have a BA in Early childhood Studies & over 4 years experience of using Play Therapy with children & young people, as well as over 30 years of childcare experience. In addition I am a Registered SandStory Therapist and an Internationally Certified MISP Instructor which adds an additional focus on in the therapeutic play process  

I feel passionately about helping children and young people to cope in the world they live in today.  

Having a massive interest in children's mental health and psychology and recognising the huge rise in challenges and stress children are facing, I decided to train as a Play Therapist in 2015.

I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy, a qualification: validated by Leeds Beckett University.

My therapeutic model is integrative & holistic, weaving in a wide range of developmental theories and neuroscience,  creative-arts based, non directive, relational and client-led. 

VIP is covered by a specialist therapy insurance and covers Falkirk and surrounding areas.
